Oil Temperature Sensor called the Expanding Element.

The element allows oil to flow to the Oil Cooler once the oil temperature has reached 95°C (203°F)

NOTE: A faulty sensor will prevent oil from reaching the oil cooler and overheat the engine, causing extensive damage. Change the sensor if you engine is running hot but your oil cooler remains cool.
