The newly updated EDL1 complete alternator replaces ALL the components of the Alternator and includes the rotor removal tool.

The stock output design includes a European made stator and rotor and paired with a slightly improved diode board using 60amp diodes (stock is 50amp). The system has a 105mm outside diameter stator (timing cover side) used on early BMW Airhead's from 1970-1976. This EDL1 charging system will improve the output of /5, and restore /6 systems to full output.

Use the fitment table on the APPLICATION TABLE TAB BELOW to identify the correct kit size before ordering. You can measure the inside (timing cover side) and outside (stator frame side) diameter of your stator ring with calipers or use the BOSCH Alternator part number. Further instructions are included in the installation guide to verify the correct kit required.

Some customers report increased component failure when using LITHIUM Style batteries. These batteries are not recommended nor supported for warranty replacement of components.
